The independent police watchdog, Independent Police Investigations Directorate (IPD), is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree in Public Admin or Public Management or Office Management or equivalent relevant admin qualification.

The successful candidates will be based at the IPID national office in Pretoria, Gauteng and will be paid a stipend R4035.00.

Requirements

  • Applicants have to be unemployed South African graduates
  • Have a degree or diploma in any of the following:
    • Office Management;
    • Public Administration;
    • Public Management;
    • equivalent, relevant administration qualification.
  • Be computer literate
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be self-driven and able to work under pressure.

You duties?

If you are successful your duties will entail:

  • The successful candidate will report to the Director: ICT and will be responsible for: Filing system, Assist with documenting and updating information such as renewing of software licenses, making travel arrangement for ICT officials, taking of calls etc. Arrange for ICT meetings; taking of minutes, Sending and receiving e-mail and faxes, Assist with the sourcing of quotations compilation of requests for ICT equipment and completion of orders, submission of monthly telephone accounts and network accounts to relevant components.

Finance Department

Remuneration: R100 000.00 (All-inclusive and dependent on year of internship).
2-Year performance-based employment contract.
Requirements:
• The applicant must be in possession of a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma or experimental training certificate from University of Technology with majors in Accounting, Economics or Finance including Risk Management and I or Auditing, amongst others.
• The interns will sign an internship agreement, which is in addition to the employment contract.
• The effect of the agreement is to ensure commitment to the programme, which requires full participation in the educational and workplace assignments and observance of policies and procedures.
• The candidates must have excellent prioritising and ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
Internship Overview:
The internship programrne is a structured professional training and work experience programme with the goal of providing high quality training and practical exposure in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office, which is governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003 and the underlying reforms.
The programme has a logical training sequence that builds on the skills and competencies acquired during university training.
It ends where appropriate, with the credits or a qualification in Municipal Finance Management in line with the Municipal Minimum Competency Regulations, Gazette 29967 of June 2007.
