The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (DID) is calling on all suitably qualified and willing Gauteng citizens to apply before 17 October 2013 for bursary opportunities offered by the department. The bursaries will cover registration, tuition fees payable directly to the institution of learning and prescribed text books and equipment; student accommodation will also be covered provided a detailed motivation letter is attached to the bursary application form. The bursaries will be awarded for the prescribed duration of the National Diploma, B-Tech or Degree as determined by the learning institution.

Eligible candidate need to:
· Be willing to be a full time student,
· Demonstrate academic potential and good academic progress report if already at an institution of learning and
· Show provisional acceptance or proof of registration from an institution of higher learning.

The STANLIB Bursary Sponsorship Programme funds tertiary level education, allowing previously disadvantaged students the opportunity to study at any university in South Africa. The programme has been running since 2005, and has funded 42 students since inception. STANLIB offers a number of bursaries each year for students studying towards the following qualifications:

Finance, Human Resources, Investment Management, Marketing and Communications, IT, Actuarial Science, Economics, and Operations.

Students who are currently in matric, first, second or third year or are completing their Honours degree may apply for these bursaries. People living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

  • Studying  full-time at  recognised Institutions of Higher Learning, Universities or Universities of Technology, and
  • Have obtained a pass symbol in all their subjects in their June/July 2013 examinations
  • Previously disadvantaged individuals as defined in BBBEE codes
  • South African citizens

  • The BET may call for additional information and/or a personal interview with the
    applicant.
  • Successful  and unsuccessful  applicants will be advised in writing by  31st October 2013.
  • Please note that no other bursary grants may run concurrently with a BET bursary.
  • Preference will be given to students who show academic and leadership potential.
