Outputs:

Electrical

Test and verify electrical equipment and systems.
Design and modify electrical circuits.
Design flow circuits.
Perform fault-finding on and repair electrical and electronic circuits.
Dismantle, test and reassemble electrical machinery.

Mechanical

Apply hand skills to perform mechanical engineering task using engineering tools and equipment.
Performing engineering maintenance on mechanical components, subassemblies and machines.
Repairing, installing and commissioning subassemblies and machines.
Machining mechanical components to specification by using a range of engineering machining equipment.

Automotive

Construct and test advanced electronic circuits.
Trace and repair faults in advanced auto electrical circuits on the automobile.
Service and repair faults on electronic automobile ignition systems.
Diagnose, test and repair electrical automobile fuel injection system.
Vehicle painting tools and equipment maintenance.
Vehicle Painting Techniques.
Repair and realignment of damaged and dented panels of the bodywork.
Remove dents and replace damaged body parts.

Plant placement for work experience during the learning programme.

Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% Physical science and 50% Mathematics (not maths literacy).

N3 Engineering studies or NCV level 4 and above (in related Engineering field of study) with a minimum of Mathematics 50% and Science 50%.
ADVANTAGE not MINIMUM Requirement: 3 Years practical experience in a production or maintenance department will be an added advantage.

GPW 2017 Apprenticeships (Only Matric required)

The Government Printing Works (GPW) in its attempt to contribute towards skills development, is providing unemployed youth with opportunities to be trained in the printing environment through the GPW 2017 apprenticeships programme. Applications are invited from all candidates who are between the ages of 18-35 who would like to participate in the apprenticeship programme to obtain an accredited qualification as Artisans in the Printing Industry. All apprentices will be allocated a mentor and will be stationed in Pretoria, Tshwane. Successful candidates will be offered a three-year contract in line with SETA requirements to prepare them successfully for both theory and practical training until they complete a trade test and receive their qualification. Successful applicants will be paid an annual stipend of R109, 926 (approximately R9,160 monthly before tax).

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, candidates should meet the following requirements:

Be South African youths between the ages of 18 and 35 years;
Application must be in the possession of a Senior Certificate/ Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;

RCL Foods is in the process of recruiting Trainee Millers at our Milling Division in Pretoria West. The successful incumbents will be placed on a Milling Traineeship. During this time the trainees will be required to achieve the learning milestones which lead to Wheat and Maize milling qualifications in the allocated periods. Appointments as Shift Millers will be made on demonstration of competence and the completion of all modules with a pass mark of 80% from the South African Grain Milling Academy.

The successful incumbents must be physically fit and be willing to work in a high pressure environment as they will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of production efficiencies and targets, adherence to quality requirements, Safety and hygiene standards as well as maintenance coordination. The position will report to the Head Miller.

What are the requirements?

Applicants must not be older than 22 years of age, and have recently acquired Grade 12 or equivalent with the following subjects and results:

At least 70-80% for Mathematics (Not Maths Literacy);
At least 60-70% for Physical Science (Life Science an advantage); and
No experience needed.
