The Mining Qualification Authority (MQA) has an opportunity for Law, Legal Studies, and Corporate Law graduates in the form of a Legal and Governance Internship Programme within its Legal and Governance Business Unit. Interns will be paid a monthly stipend for the duration of the 24-months long programme.

What are the requirements?

To apply for this internship programme you have to meet the following requirements:

  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Office;
  • Must have a completed Law Degree (such as an LLB), or another degree with a major in law (such as a BA Law or BCom Law), or a National Diploma in Corporate Law, Legal Studies or CIS;
  • Be proactive and work well under pressure.

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a registered Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998. The MQA now requires the services of the following persons to fill the under-mentioned positions.

The Intern will be offered a monthly stipend on a 12-month contract basis

The Internship will cover but may not be limited to the following:
* Provide administrative support in terms of the following functions
* Process Workplace Skills Plans (WSPs) and Annual Training Reports (ATRs) for Mandatory Grants
* Register, communicate and support Skills Development Facilitators (SDFs)
* Organise events, including meetings and workshops.
* Assist with travel arrangements.
* Assist with diary management of the unit including the Manager’s diary
* Filing and document control
* Liaise with MQA stakeholders and handle customer queries
* Provide general administrative support within the Skills Development and Research Unit

Qualifications:
A diploma/degree in Human Resources Development, Training or Business Management.
Administration and project management.
The successful candidate will be required to submit a monthly, work-integrated learning report.

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is currently inviting applications into its learning programmes internship programme for 2013 from suitably qualified Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Business Management OR Business Administration graduates.

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a registered Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998.
The MQA now requires the services of the following persons to fill the under-mentioned position.

The successful intern will be offered a monthly stipend for a period of 12 months.

The internship will cover but may not be limited to the following areas:
• Providing technical support on Learning Programmes administration
• Assist with the registration/general administration of non-artisan learnerships, ABET, FLC, Mine Environmental Control and skills programmes including the OHS Skills Programme
• Providing a customer service to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with MQA customer service standards
• Providing administrative support service to the Learning Programmes Unit
• Performing any other tasks delegated by the Senior Learning Programmes Administrator, Learning Programmes Specialist or Learning Programmes Manager
• Gaining exposure to other MQA units’ scope of work/performance areas

The candidates to be considered must possess:
• A relevant degree or diploma in Human Resource Management/Development or Business Management/Administration
• Sound knowledge and application of Microsoft Office packages
• Good communication and sound interpersonal skills
• An understanding of legislation and developments in respect of education and training
• The ability to work under pressure
• The ability to demonstrate a proactive attitude
• Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be an advantage
