South African Breweries’ (SAB) ABI Devland Manufacturing in Eldorado Park is currently accepting applications for placement on their 1-year Learnership Programme starting in July 2014. The packaging learnerships are targeted at young South Africans with a Matric/Grade 12 qualification with Maths and Science as passed subjects OR an N3 in Engineering. The learnership will accommodate 10 learners.

The SAB ABI Devland Manufacturing Packaging Learnership offers both on-the-job training and off-the-job learning for a period of approximately 12-months, at the successful completion of which learners will be awarded with a National Certificate at NQF level 3 – the National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging. This learnership will be based in Devland, Eldoradopark.

What are the requirements?

To be considered for these learnership opportunities, you have to meet the following minimum requirements:

Have a Grade 12/Matric qualification with Maths and Science as passed subjects OR N3 in Engineering;
NO experience is required.

SAB Sales Learnership 2013

The purpose of the SABMiller Sales Learnership is to provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to enrol for a Further Education and Training Certificate (NQF 4) with the Food and Beverages SETA. They will enter into a fixed term contract for the duration of 12 months with Cape Region and will complete a learnership programme comprising of a blend of formal training and structured work experience supported by coaching and mentorship.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

A Grade 12 qualification is essential
Valid South African driver’s licence
Proficiency in English and isiXHOSA
Basic computer literacy and experience working with Microsoft Office
Basic financial literacy and business acumen
Local area knowledge is a requirement

Output and Accountabilities

Complete Sales Learnership Programme. The Learnership is a structured integrated learning programme that combines theoretical (formal) training and on-the-job learning (structured work experience).
Provide support on sales deliverables and targets during peak business periods and when sales teams are on leave.

What is an SABMiller learnership?

Learnership is a structured learning programme that combines off-the-job learning and on-the-job learning in an integrated programme. The off-the- job component covers more theoretical aspects of the learning with work-based learning providing the opportunity for application of the theory and the further practical learning experiences required.1.A Learnership leads to a national qualification registered on the (NQF) Qualification Framework.
2.The qualification is based on SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) registered unit standards
3.The unit standards are written to reflect value adding skills required in the workplace and contain the outcomes and assessment criteria
4.Competence is demonstrated in the workplace utilising a variety of assessment methods and using the assessment criteria as the standard of performance.
