Standard Bank of South Africa is inviting applications from from unemployed young South Africans with a Grade 12 / Matric qualification to apply for their 2016 Learnerships for Unemployed Matriculants. This Standard Bank 2016 learnerships are open to unemployment young South Africans between the ages of 18 and 30 years. Learners will be required to sign a 12-month learnership contract. Learners will receive a monthly learnership allowance of R3 000 for the duration.

The learnership will entail both classroom and practical training over an 12 months period. On successful completion, learners will receive a nationally-recognised Banking Further Education & Training at NQF level 4.

What are the requirements?

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 12-month fixed term employment contract as well as a learnership contract. The Operations Learnership programme is a learnership programme targeted at an entry level role within the Corporate Investment Banking Operations area in the Bank. It is a 12 month programme broken down into 3 months of theoretical training followed by 9 months of practical training (workplace-based). Candidates are given an opportunity to work towards a formal qualification in Banking as well as apply the necessary practical aspects of their learning’s.
