The Mpumalanga Government’s Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison is inviting applications for its 2016/2017 Traffic Officer Learnerships (Ref No. DCSSL/TM/LP2016) from unemployed young South Africans from previously disadvantaged communities who reside in Mpumalanga. Learners will be placed on a 12-months learnership programme, which will result in learners being awarded a Basic Traffic Officer’s Diploma at successful completion of the learnership which will be primarily conducted at the Mpumalanga Traffic Training College in Mkhuhlu. This learnership programme will accommodate one hundred (100) young people (18 to 35-year-olds).

What are the requirements?

In order to be considered, candidates will have to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Must be a South African youth between the ages of 18 and 35 years;
  • Have a Code 8/B driver’s license;
  • Be physically fit;
  • Have no criminal record;
  • Have a Grade 12 certificate; and
  • Be a resident of Mpumalanga.
