As part of our human capital development strategy, we are offering bursaries to B.Eng or B.Sc. Engineering students. This aligns to address Transnet’s skills needs in support of the Company’s Market Demand Strategy.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 Learners (SA Citizens) with outstanding achievements, with a minimum five symbol in English, Mathematics and Physical Science and students currently studying towards B.Eng or BSc Engineering are encouraged to apply for one of our comprehensive bursaries in the following disciplines:

Position Purpose:

The purpose of the Learnership Programme is to develop a pipeline for key roles within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) through a structured 12-month training programme.

The programme seeks to place Learners in specific areas within TPT according to their academic background, career aspirations and business requirements

Position outputs:

Follow a structured training programme
Undergo performance reviews and assessments.
Perform all duties as contained in his/her development programme, as well as which he/she may reasonably be required to perform by Transnet Port Terminals.

Are you a South African with a clean bill of health? Are you physically capable to work with weights of up to 45kg (attaching and detaching train coaches/vehicles)? Then you might be the person Transnet Freight Rail is looking to appoint the position of Trainee Train Assistant at their Ermelo North operations. The Trainee Train Assistant will also be trained as a train driver and will have an opportunity to be awarded an employment contract at the completion of their training. South African state-owned rail company, Transnet, are inviting applications for their 2015 leanerships for Trainee Protection Officials, which are open to South African citizens resident in the Northern Cape or Western Cape provinces. Applicants are required to have a Grade 12 certificate and be mentally and physically fit. This is a nine months learnership programme wherein learners will be afforded an opportunity to train to become competent Patrol and Access Control Security Officers.

South African state-owned rail & freight company, Transnet, is inviting applications for its Trainee Aircraft Artisan opportunity currently available at its CHM, Aviation, PKT departments in Johannesburg, Gauteng. Applications are invited from young South Africans with a Grade 12 / Matric certificate and with Mathematics, English, and Physical Science – passed at level 5 (new Matric [NSC]) or symbol C (old Matric). Applicants have to be physically fit and younger than 30 years of age in order to be considered.

What are the requirements?

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
