Australian-founded mining company, South32, is inviting applications for its 2016 Maintenance Learnerships from young South Africans with an N3 certificate. The Learnerships will help successful candidates to qualify as artisans in the following fields: Diesel Mechanical, Millwright, Fitter, Ropesman, Rigging, and Boilermaker. Successful candidates will be based at South32’s Wessels Mine in Hotazel, Northern Cape.

What are the requirements?

Minimum of a Technical N3 certificate;
Have a valid driver’s license.

BHP Billiton’s Hozatel Manganese Mines (HMM), at its Wessels Mine (in the Kalahari), is inviting applications from young South Africans with a Matric or an NC(V) Level 4 certificate or N2/N3 technical qualification to apply for their apprenticeship opportunities for 2014. Successful candidates will be trained – both theoretically and practically (on-the-job) – to qualify as Artisans, either as Fitter or Electrician.

What are the requirements?

Please make sure you meet the following minimum requirements before attempting to apply:

Have a Matric / Grade 12 qualification with pure Maths and Science, OR an N2/N3 technical qualification, OR an NCV Level 4 certificate with Mathematics and Science (minimum pass mark of 40% in each subject).
Have a Code B (08) Driver’s License;
Be able to pass a medical examination (which will be conducted before employment)
