e-Cadre Programme applications now open

The Department of Communications invites applications from young people to be trained on the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) course. Also invited to apply are unemployed IT Graduates trained at any recognised university or university of technology or institution of higher learning in the Republic of South Africa.

IT graduates will not be trained in ICDL course but are recruited to be part of the e-Cadre programme to provide technical support during the service deployment component of the programme and be part of the database.

They will be deployed for 12 months to acquire practical experience that will enhance their employments propects.

Who qualifies?

Young people (ages 18 – 30) from rural and urban district nodal municipalities specifically from the following municipalities:

Mpumalanga: Nkangala

Western Cape: Khayelitsha/Mitchells Plain

Northern Cape: Kgalagadi District, Namaqualand and Pixley Ka Seme Districts (Springbok and De Aar)

Limpopo: Sekhukhune and Capricorn

North West: Bojanala Platinum District Municipality

Requirements:

Matriculants

Applicants in this category must be between the ages of 18- 30 years with matric (Grade 12) and unemployed. Only candidates with no prior training on computers, broadcasting, telecommunications, and postal services will be considered. The training will take place over a period of six months.

IT Graduates

In this category, applicants must between the ages of 18 and 30 years with a diploma OR degree from a recognised South African university/ university of technology/ institution of higher leaning in South Africa. Applicants must be unemployed with no work experience.

    Im a matriculant(2013) nd i would love to sudy in the field of disaster management, but i got a problem because i dont know which varsity to go- or should i go straight to the municipality to do some practicals?
