Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Qualification in Markets, Business or Journalism.
  • Experience in handling similar functions in the television broadcasting industry and other media would be advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of the markets would be advantageous.

Overview / Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the Intern are to:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all aspects of program production including writing news packages, researching, writing news stories, performing basic video editing on workstation, monitoring video feeds, sourcing graphics as necessary for the program/content, assisting in all other aspects of the preparation of a news bulletin and/or recorded show.
  • Assist the Assistant Producer and Producer in the Control Room when the show is on-air.
  • Sourcing guests, both live and telephonic.
  • Be involved in conducting interviews in the field, voicing packages, arranging shoots. booking, pre-interviewing, greeting and seating guests, working with an ENG Editor on long-form programs.
  • Carry out any other work as deemed necessary from time to time by the Markets Editor.
  • From time to time, carry out voicing and on-camera work in accordance with ability as directed by, and at the sole discretion of the Markets Editor.
  • Be familiar with the latest events and business news in the region and the world.
  • Carry out any other tasks as deemed necessary from time to time by management.

Skills and Experience

  • Abiliity to assist the Assistant Producer and Producer in production of assigned live or recorded programs and components of programs to be broadcast on the channel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a global environment.
  • Willingness and ability to take the initiative.
  • Team player.
  • Attention to detail.
