GSD&M is searching for students seeking to gain hands-on experience in project-based internships to further develop their knowledge of the advertising industry.

GSD&M intern candidates MUST be enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate level student at their college or university. We are also accepting new college graduate applications for this position.

What are the requirements?

  • Relevant/Applicable majors preferred (Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Design, Art, Communication, Business)
  • Media Sequence a plus
  • Strong Excel experience required
  • Previous internship(s) a plus, but not required

External Description

In addition to learning what agency-life is like, GSD&M Media Planning/Buying interns are generally responsible for:

  • Help pull competitive information from AdViews, IMS, AdRelevance, etc. and format into a presentable form
  • assist in preparing client ready documents such as POVs, flowcharts, competitive charts, etc.
  • View and evaluate Product Integration excerpts as needed
  • pull Rankers from Media Pro
  • Help with the organization and maintenance of the account print plans (when applicable)
  • Keep a “trend tracker” report for each brand on a weekly basis
  • Assisting with the setting up of buy specifications
  • Assisting with cost per point projects
  • Creating post logs and compiling data for teams
  • Filing, copying, faxing, compiling information into excel spread sheets, research, data entry, assist in reviewing paperwork, proofing reports


    Interactive Media Planning Intern

This internship provides a unique opportunity to get hands on experience on several accounts within the Interactive department. As an extension to the Interactive team, the Interactive Intern will gain experience working with different people in a fast paced environment. Interns will receive training on a variety of digital media tools and be expected to master those systems through the course of the semester.

The following responsibilities vary from client team to team, depending upon the nature of the account:

  • Work with digital teams to aid in campaign management and conduct campaign analysis through programs like Atlas and Google
  • Assist in preparing detail-oriented client-ready documents such as presentations, campaign re-cap reports
  • Work with digital teams as they create, assign and traffic creative
  • assist in preparing campaign spec documents
  • attend vendor meetings to learn about what topics are discussed and have knowledge and background of various projects going on in the digital space
  • filing, copying, faxing, compiling information into excel spread sheets, research, data entry, assist in reviewing paperwork, proofing reports
  • staying on top of industry trends as well as emerging trends
