Belgotex Floors Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal is inviting Graduate to apply for its 2021 Process Instrumentation Internships. The purpose of this position is to offer an opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering while working with a team of I&C Engineers and Technicians in assisting in troubleshooting, working on PLC’s and installing and maintaining wiring. This role reports to the Process Instrumentation Manager.
Key Resposibilities
- Perform inspections and fault finding on systems using specializing software as well as MS Office.
- Assist in power distribution designs and preparations of specifications for the procurement of instrumentation and controls equipment and related installation services.
- Fault find on circuit boards
- Working on the wiring of panels
- Perform routine aspects of assigned projects under close supervision, following established procedures
- Assist on the preparations and processing of client-requested data or documents that are compliant with contract terms and client-specific needs
- Troubleshoot PLC’s, Network and Communications and make PLC logic changes as required to simplify and standardize like processes
- Troubleshoot automated machine controls
- Working on basic Drives
- Ensure safety programs and procedures are followed
- Work with a team in assessing, recommending, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs
- Be proactive and show initiative to continuously improve equipment performance
- Carry out the prescribed tasks correctly
What are the Requirements?
To be considered, applicant should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Math
- Bachelor’s Degree / BTech or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering in Instrumentation or similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
