In this 2-year program, you will have the opportunity to learn about the container industry from both theoretical and practical perspectives while at the same time gaining international experience. We have a global fleet of more than 250 vessels, actively participate in all major global trade lanes, run the latest IT systems, and have an extensive terminal ownership portfolio. Our global headquarters are in Singapore with regional headquarters in Hong Kong, UK, USA, and Brazil. With ONE being a global business, you will have the opportunity to gain experience at the international level. The program includes assignments that you will complete together with your fellow apprentices from ONE’s Europe and Africa Offices, allowing you to experience international collaboration. You may also work in another office outside of the one that you will be based in.

An exciting opportunity exists for 2 SAIL Apprenticeship’s (Shipping Apprenticeship & International Learning) within Ocean Network Express – South Africa (Pty) Ltd (ONE SA). This is a 2-year contract role.
The successful incumbent will be exposed to the following:
- Theoretical Training
- Introduction to Shipping;
- Shipping Knowledge;
- Communication;
- Teamwork;
- Cultural Awareness;
- Presentation;
- Feedback;
- Peer Coaching;
- Project Management;
- Remote Collaboration.
- Practical Training
- Exposure to all departments within the ONE SA operations.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERTISE
- A Degree or NQF level 7 qualification is essential.
- Post graduate qualification NQF L8 preferred.
- High level English verbal and nonverbal written communication
- Flexible and engaged.
- Candidates must be fluent in English.
- Keen on learning and curious personality
- Selfdriven learner (e-learning)
- Interest in shipping & international environment
- Mobile willingness to travel and work locally and internationally.
- Valid passport must be longer than 6 months as at September 2023
